Tip 2: Don’t fall into the holiday trap
Holidays are a time for celebrating, and too many of us think that’s also the time to drink too much, to eat too much, and to over-indulge in other bad habits. Don’t fall into the holiday trap, especially if you’re trying to overcome an addiction. If you vow to quit your addictions, you can also vow to quit the holiday trap!
Surround yourself with friends or family members who are supportive and will help you get through the holidays without booze, cigarettes, bad food or drugs.
Celebrate your holidays by joining a charitable cause that serves food to the poor instead of drinks to those who already drink too much. The holidays are a time for helping others, too. Give yourself the gift of a new hobby, and celebrate the new you.
Instead of worrying about past bad habits, begin a new good habit. Make it a truly happy holiday for you!
